I encourage and welcome aspiring children's book illustrators who are embarking on their journey to become professional illustrators to have a friendly portfolio review with me. Portfolio reviews can help you at any stage of your illustration career, and it’s always a good idea to take the opportunity to talk with a fellow illustrator who loves illustration as much as you do! A portfolio review can help you identify areas where you can level up your art practice and create artwork that will appeal to your target audience.
I specialize in creating artwork for the under-5 children’s book market and am now branching into greeting card licensing.
You may wish to focus on picture books, board books, educational books, jigsaw puzzles, or greeting cards. Let me know your dream area to work in and the age range you are targeting with your art. I can then provide advice on how to refine and focus your illustration work for future projects.

Send over 10 of your best children’s illustrations and I will review each one and provide constructive advice on your strengths and how to level up other areas of your artwork.
You can choose a one hour video call with me in my illustration studio or if you prefer I will send you a personalised professional PDF filled with guidance and advice.
As each portfolio review is personalized, we may discuss character design, use of colour, image composition, levels and tone, light and shadow, backgrounds, or any of the countless details that go into creating stunning illustrations for children.
I will also suggest some new illustrations you can get started on creating for your children's illustration portfolio!
​ In addition, I will review the new illustrations you create after your first review to polish them and make them shine before you add them into your portfolio!
I suggest we create 3 or 4 new pieces. Whatever you have time for and feel comfortable with. No pressure at all!
The one-to-one children’s illustration portfolio review with a review of the illustrations you created in the mentorship, is a one-time payment of £99, which can be transferred before you send your artwork to me.
